I read this quote the other day and it really hit home with me. Anyone who knows me knows that I love quotes. Certain quotes are motivational; others can give a new perspective to a situation. Quotes, however, are a few lines that say something insightful or inspiring, but you have to go out and do the hard work if you want something badly enough. Be open, and learn from others. One of the best pieces of advice I received is from my stepdad, who, similarly, said, “You have to find something you’re passionate about and go for it.” I live by that. No matter what obstacles you may face, in sports, school, or life, find the courage to follow your dream, and do it with abandon.
We train hard each and every day because we are passionate about soccer. Sometimes the training
pays off; other times we fall short despite our best effort, but we keep fighting and striving for the next victory. This past weekend we played two games on the road, in Connecticut on Saturday against Yankee Lady FC and in New York City on Sunday against FC Westchester. We fell to the Yankee Lady FC in a disappointing 2-1 match, where we got off to a slow start after a seven-hour bus trip. We then rallied to defeat FC Westchester on Sunday in a 2 -1 victory, where
FC Westchester recorded 11 shots on net, but our Revs team bested them, tightening the race for first place in our conference.
Our next game is this Saturday, June 29th at 6 PM at UB North, when we take on the Syracuse Lady Knights, with whom we are battling for first place. On Sunday, June 30th, we are back on the road to play the Tri-City Celtics. Come out and support the Revs on Saturday, and be sure to get updates on our website and other social media outlets for Sunday’s game.
As always, thank you for your support and GO REVS!
